Architectural design fees are priced individually for every project, and these are based on the amount of time we expect it will take to deliver the standard of service required.
This fee does vary depending on the client's wishes and the anticipated complexity of the scheme. For example, a historic house with conservation constraints will require more investigation and planning documentation than a house with no such restrictions. Some clients may also wish to have every detail perfected by their architect (bespoke interior furniture or lighting perhaps), while another client may wish to have a more basic level of service to keep their overall project costs down.
Our services are adaptable, and we can offer a variety of solutions to meet project demands while adhering to our typical project process framework (see here). In most cases, we agree a lump sum in advance with the client, and we are transparent about the time this will allow to deliver the project. This fee is always sense-checked against the anticipated construction budget, and we reserve the right to alter our fees if the scope of the project increases or decreases significantly.
